Dr. Peter Rujuwa has devoted 37 years to traditional Shona stone carving. Born in Zimbabwe’s eastern highlands, his sculptures now grace international museums and private collections worldwide.
With advanced degrees in Organizational Leadership and Community Psychology, Dr Rujuwa brings spiritual and scholarly depth to ancient carving traditions. From his Indianapolis studio, Dr. Rujuwa bridges Zimbabwean heritage with contemporary expression.
His philosophy: reveal the potential that already exists within both stone and people. Each sculpture channels the spiritual essence the Shona believe dwells within stone, proving that true artistry transcends borders through reverent listening.
